Tom graduated from University of Puget Sound in 1973. He received his Real Estate Brokers license in 1977 and earned his CPM designation in 1979. Over the years Tom has been active in the management, rehabilitation, acquisition and sale of many affordable housing projects. Tom oversees the overall operation of UMI.
Spencer joined United Marketing, Inc. in 2009 as Sr. Director for Business Development and Asset Management. Spencer has primary responsibilities in Asset Management, overseeing all aspects of financial reporting and project refinancing as well as commercial leasing and project valuation. Before joining UMI Spencer had been a regional vice president with a national real estate tax consulting firm and had previous positions in finance at Washington Mutual and Intel. Spencer graduated from Santa Clara University in 2001 and received his WA Brokers License in 2009.
Doug is responsible for the bookkeeping and accounting functions, biweekly payroll and related payroll reporting requirements, monthly financial preparation, including supporting reports and schedules for UMI and its related corporations. Doug supervises bookkeeping staff and oversees the accounting hardware and software.
Jim Started with United Marketing in 2001 as the Regional Supervisor for the Central Puget Sound Region. He coordinates HUD REAC, mortgage and bank inspections for all properties. He is the liaison between General Contractors, architects and design teams for new construction buildings, as well as rehabs. Jim works directly with on-site maintenance personnel to develop customized maintenance schedules for individual properties as well as selecting vendors and maintaining relationships to obtain the best possible pricing structure. Other duties include budgeting, planning and hiring contractors and subcontractors for major capital improvement projects. Prior to joining UMI, Jim had run and managed a multi-state landscaping and maintenance management firm.
Kim started with United Marketing in 2015 as a resident manager for a 150 unit portfolio. After achieving excellence in updating and bringing this portfolio in to compliance, Kim was promoted to Compliance Supervisor over seeing compliance for 20 projects. In her current role as Regional Compliance Supervisor, Kim oversees compliance for UMI’s Western Washington portfolio. Kim is a Certified Occupancy Specialist (NCHM) and is proficient in all areas of Tax Credit, VAWA, and MOR compliance.
